BAJA BORDER ZONE REMAINDER OF BAJA MAINLAND MEXICO
PEOPLE No permits required for tourist travel up to 72 hours. A passport and visa needed for business
For tourist travel, obtain a TOURIST CARD and have it validated after entering Mexico. A passport and visa are required for business travel.
MOTORIZED VEHICLES No permits required for cars, campers, motor homes, motorcycles or other motorized vehicles.

TRAILERS No permits required for recreational or boat trailers unless they exceed 8 feet in width or 40 feet in length. Obtainable only in Tijuana.

HIGHWAY No permit is required to trailer or otherwise transport a boat into Baja by highway. A fishing license is required for the boat if it is used for fishing.

SEA Obtain a validated CREW LIST at the Mexican Consulate in San Diego. Also obtain TOURIST CARDS for all persons aboard. Port Captain check-in required in Mexico. A fishing license is also required for the vessel.
COMMERCIAL
AIRCRAFT No special requirements. Obtain TOURIST CARDS in advance for airports beyond the border zone. Cards will be validated by officials at the international airports. This is the easiest way to enter Mexico as the validating officials are waiting at the aiports and you do not have to search for them.
PRIVATE
AIRCRAFT Must land and obtain a GENERAL DECLARATION at one of Mexico's international airports and file flight plans as required by both Mexican and American authorities. Also obtain TOURIST CARDS for all persons aboard.
