Channel Islands (California), Joshua Tree很一般. 前者无公路. 都不推荐.
冰川公园很漂亮, 大力推荐.
南犹他漏了太多自然奇景: Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches, Capitol Reef, Antelope Canyon, monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, Gooseneck Valley, Lake Powell - Rainbow Bridge Air tour, Horseshoe Bend, Coral Pink Desert, Marble Canyon, Hoodoos, The Wave, Road UT-89A.............
北亚利桑那的Petrified Forest NP也不错, 小而精致
西雅图附近的Mt Rainier National Park, North Cascades NP, Olympic NP, 俄勒冈境内的Crater Lake National Park都不错....
新墨西哥州的White Sand和Carlsbad Cavern NP也不错.
NY的尼亚加拉瀑布, FL的大沼泽地国家公园都很有代表性....

It is simply because most of the parks you mentioned are NOT at West Coast. They are mostly in the mid-west of US, which is entirely different from your understanding of 美西.
Also, many of them are along the Rockies and that makes them subject to extreme weather all year long.
What makes those places magic is that you only have a brief window period each year to get the best out of the visit. It is 100% mother nature does the work.
